Prolonging of deferment of payments

The regulations in regards to deferment of payments for contributions and taxes have been adapted, prolonged and – partially – bound to certain prerequisites.

When being impacted by the corona-crisis, the financial authorities have granted a deferment of payments resp. installment of payments up September, 30th 2020. It is planned – however, not yet legally regulated – to extend this up until January, 15th 2021.

The Austrian social security has – if a company has payment problems due to Corona – not raised any interests for delayed payment for the periods February to April 2020 up until May, 31st. Up until the official legal regulation is in place (expected to be this month), a regulation is currently preventing the enforcement of payments up until August, 31st 2020.

ATTENTION: for contributions from May onwards, interest for delayed payment are charged.

Please note: If you have employees in short time working or have employees that don’t work due to being part of the high risk group and have requested a deferment of payments at social security, these employees are excluded from this. Meaning, that for this employees the contribution payments have to be made up until the 15th of the second following month of the support payment. This applies to February till April, as well as May till December 2020.
