In order to soften the economic impact the current corona crisis has, the Austrian Government, Labour Unions, and Chamber of Commerce have agreed on a new „support package“ for short time working.
The “AMS”, the Unemployment Agency refunds the employer not only social security contributions, but also non-wage labour costs, as well as parts of special payments (i.e. holiday bonus and christmas payment). The corresponding applications can be also made backdated.
